Keeping your home comfortable during COVID-19.

COVID-19 has shocked nations across the world! Keeping your home comfortable during COVID-19 seems like a hard goal. Closed schools, mandate stay at home orders, and closed workplaces have families across the country spending more and more time together at home. This has made home comfort a great priority. As HVAC professionals in Stafford, we want the best for your system, home and family even during these strange days we are living.

With the constant possibility of contracting the virus, homeowners all around are looking for ways to keep their families safe. Here are a few ways to keep your home comfortable and safe during these hard times.

It is time to reprogram your thermostats. If you or your family has been spending more time at home it is important to adjust the temperature for that time during the day. If you own a smart thermostat this is a quick easy step. Just use the app on your phone to make the necessary changes. If you do not have one, this may be the time to look into upgrading your thermostat today. Feel free to call us and we can share with you all of the options available. We can recommend the best fit for you by taking your budget and needs into account.

Upgrade your HVAC filter. Look for a filter with a higher value MERV rating, this will give you a much finer filtration. This will also result in fewer dust particles, and other airborne contaminants that can pass through the regular filters. We do want to remind our clients that a filter can not guarantee safety against the spread of this virus. Also remember that these air quality benefits only occur when the system fan is running.

Humidity is IMPORTANT. As HVAC experts we recommend that homes and businesses should aim for a relative humidity of 40-60%.

Viruses are least viable at that range. A home humidifier that keeps this range is highly recommended.

The time may come when you may need to call an HVAC specialist in your area. Whether it’s for repairs or routine maintenance, we promise to offer our services safely under the guidelines set by our state and local governments. If you need to call us, here are some precautions we are taking during these challenging times.

We are taking social distancing very seriously during meetings with customers as well as our own team meetings. We are all constantly washing our hands as well as using hand sanitizer. Face masks are highly enforced on the road and during our meetings. If you call one of our technicians to your home for AC repair services, feel free to ask them to wash or sanitize their hands and their tools before they work on your system.

Many of our technicians use their phones to record their work data or to manage their billing. You are more than welcomed to ask any technician to sanitize the screen or stilus before using it. Skip the handshake. We understand that keeping our customers safe is a top priority. We will not be offended, we just want to keep you safe at all times.
